According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 13th, measurement equipment importer Company A was recently selected as the successful bidder for the purchase project of continuous electromagnetic wave measurement equipment around the THAAD base area.
The total purchase quantity is eight units, of which five will be installed around the THAAD base. Three units are reserved as spares in case of malfunctions. The delivery date is April 28 next year, and the actual installation is expected to take place in the second quarter of next year.
A Ministry of National Defense official said, "There is no equipment in Korea that measures electromagnetic waves 24 hours a day and shows the results, and since it must be imported from overseas, it takes time," adding, "We expect installation to be possible within the first half of the year."
