The Arts Council held the '3rd World Changed by Arts Data (hereinafter Yebase)' contest to discover service planning ideas using public cultural arts data.
Since 2020, the 'Yebase' contest has been promoted to seek innovative solutions using public data. Through the 1st and 2nd contests, a total of 64 ideas were discovered. This project is evaluated as having formed a consensus on the value of data utilization in the cultural arts field, where data-based activities were unfamiliar, and provided an opportunity to experiment with the expansion potential of arts data.
This year, marking the 3rd contest, expert mentoring was expanded to two sessions, and education on data utilization cases was conducted, providing in-depth consulting for participants. A total of 14 teams with excellent ideas were selected. The grand prize was awarded to the ‘Supjigi’ team, which proposed a cultural welfare service idea for reclusive individuals.
The Arts Council will start a new project to support the follow-up process so that ideas discovered through the contest can develop into full-fledged commercial services.
The 'Arts Service Follow-up Growth Support Project' provides seed funding to teams among the 'Yebase' awardees over the past two years who have developed their contest ideas and are currently developing services or planning startups. By establishing a one-stop support system covering all stages from idea discovery to service development, the project aims to enhance the self-sustainability of the arts field and lay the foundation for growth.
Applications were received in September, and four teams were finally selected as winners. The grand prize was awarded to the ‘Changui Gongjakso’ team, which proposed the ‘Muziform Service,’ a cultural facility visitor survey and data visualization solution.
