Korea GSK Holds 'Patient Week'... "Realizing Patient-Centered Values"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] Korea GSK announced on the same day that it will hold the 'Patient Week' event from the 10th to the 18th to support patients suffering from various diseases and to realize the 'Patient Focused' value of its employees.
Korea GSK Patient Week is an internal event planned to reflect once again on the impact and meaning that each patient's and employee's work has on patients, based on a corporate culture that is Ambitious for patients.
This Patient Week is held under the theme "I’m working for patients, I’m working for my mom and dad." It consists of various programs such as accepting stories of patients among employees' families who have suffered from illnesses and providing opportunities for family photo shoots, creating a Patient Wall composed of the photos taken and stories of overcoming diseases, and a town hall meeting where employees share and empathize with their Ambition for Patients.
At the town hall meeting held at the Korea GSK office on the day, to remind employees of the corporate value of having passion for patients even in daily life, the name of the employee lounge in the office was designated as the 'Patient Lounge.'
In addition, all employees watched a making film produced during the family photo shoot and interview videos of employees filmed under the theme "What does the work we do mean to patients?" to support patients and commemorate Patient Week.
Lee Dong-hoon, Manager of Korea GSK, said, "I was glad that the grandmother who overcame asthma and her family were able to create good memories through this Patient Week." He added, "I participated in the event to share how valuable the activities that I and GSK employees do are, and I send a message of support to patients and their families who have experienced similar pain as mine."
