7 Days Until College Entrance Exam, Gyeongnam Office of Education Operates 'Suneung Comprehensive Situation Room'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Gyeongnam Office of Education will operate a comprehensive situation room for the 2023 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) starting from the 14th.
The provincial Office of Education plans to set up the situation room in the education office auditorium from 1 PM on that day and begin the CSAT management system, including exam site setup and traffic conditions on the test day.
The seven education support offices in the province’s exam districts will also operate district-specific situation rooms to support the test-takers.
The provincial Office of Education requested government offices, public enterprises, and businesses with more than 50 employees to adjust their start times to after 10 AM on the CSAT day to ensure smooth attendance of examinees.
A support team capable of responding to emergencies such as earthquakes, heavy snow, and power outages will be formed to cooperate with related agencies.
In cooperation with the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency and the police stations in charge of all cities and counties where the 116 exam sites are located, measures will be implemented to facilitate traffic flow, provide emergency transport vehicles on the CSAT day, control traffic around exam sites, and minimize noise.
The Office of Education has also prepared measures to prevent cheating, including providing examinee guidelines, distributing portable metal detectors, and operating a cheating report center within the education office.
To this end, close cooperation with the police agency is planned, and supervision will be strengthened using advanced wireless devices to block cheating.
According to the provincial Office of Education, examinees may carry analog watches with hour, minute, and second hands, but watches with communication functions such as Bluetooth or electronic displays like LCD or LED are not allowed in the exam sites.
Electronic devices such as electronic cigarettes or earphones with communication functions are also prohibited.
All examinees and exam staff must wear masks and have their temperatures checked before entering the exam sites.
On the day, symptomatic individuals must take the test in separate exam rooms, and examinees previously classified as isolated can take the test in separate exam sites, while those receiving inpatient treatment can take the test in hospital exam sites.
In Gyeongnam, according to COVID-19 prevention guidelines, a total of 116 exam sites will be set up, including 105 general exam schools, 10 separate exam sites, and 1 hospital exam site, with the CSAT situation room operating in two divisions for quarantine and exam management.
