The Bank of Korea held the contest from July 1 to August 26 to raise awareness about the necessity of guaranteeing the choice to use cash as a payment method, to alert people about the production and use of counterfeit bills, and to emphasize the importance of proper currency usage habits.
A judging panel including external experts reviewed a total of 247 submissions (84 videos and 163 card news), and the grand prize was awarded to the 'Yomojomo Team' for their video titled "Help Us!" on the theme of using money cleanly.
The video metaphorically depicted the damage to banknotes through situations experienced by the portrait figures on each banknote and clearly explained how to use currency cleanly in daily life.
In the video category, the Excellence Awards went to "From Side Effects to Happiness" (theme: Guaranteeing the choice to use cash) and "Do You Know the Average Lifespan of Currency?" (theme: Using Money Cleanly), while in the card news category, "Alssulwi-pye" (theme: Prevention of Counterfeit Currency Circulation) received the award.
