"Work Anywhere Domestically or Abroad" OB Beer Introduces 'Workplace Autonomy Selection System'
A System Allowing Employees to Work 25 Days Annually at Desired Domestic and International Locations
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] OB Beer announced on the 10th that it will introduce a ‘Workplace Autonomy System’ allowing employees to work from anywhere domestically or internationally starting this month.
The Workplace Autonomy System is a flexible work arrangement that enables employees to work from any location they prefer, as long as it provides a safe remote work environment. OB Beer employees can autonomously choose their work location for a total of 25 days annually. This year, they can use 4 days during the remaining two months starting this month, and from January 1st next year, 25 days will be newly granted.
OB Beer employees must adhere to an 8-hour workday and include the common working hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Korea Standard Time, during which meetings and collaboration are possible, to utilize the Workplace Autonomy System from anywhere domestically or internationally.
The company explained that the purpose of introducing the Workplace Autonomy System is the expectation that employees’ work immersion will improve due to the autonomy in choosing their workplace, leading to growth in teams and business. OB Beer has been implementing a ‘Selective Working Hours System,’ where employees decide their start and end times within the total working hours, since 2017, and has now additionally introduced the Workplace Autonomy System.
