JW Jungwo Pharmaceutical Joins ESG Global Initiative 'Carbon Disclosure Project'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] JW Pharmaceutical announced on the 9th that it has completed joining the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) to strengthen ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
CDP is a UK-based international organization conducting global climate change response projects in about 90 countries, providing environmental management information of 18,700 companies worldwide to over 800 investors including global financial institutions.
To join CDP, JW Pharmaceutical prepared a report covering greenhouse gas emissions and energy usage over the past four years, environmental decision-making governance, and business strategies, which was verified by the Korea Standards Association. Notably, it obtained certification for the broadest scope of carbon emissions calculation, 'Scope 3.'
JW Pharmaceutical plans to further strengthen carbon-neutral management following its CDP membership. It aims to obtain certifications such as the Energy Management System (ISO 50001) and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001), as well as to be selected for the government-led carbon-neutral leading plant construction support project.
