Gokseong-gun Wins Top Prize in Farm Management Improvement Support Project Competition
Contributing to Farm Management Improvement through Fostering Small but Strong Gangsonong Farmers
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cha Jong-sun] The Jeonnam Gokseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center announced that it won the grand prize at the 2022 Farm Management Improvement Support Project Best Practice Contest.
The Rural Development Administration held this best practice contest to discover excellent cases that contributed to strengthening the capabilities of agricultural management entities and improving farm income through the Small-Scale Farmer Support Project.
The evaluation was conducted separately for metropolitan and basic local governments, focusing on ▲ achievements in promoting the Small-Scale Farmer Project ▲ participation in management improvement communities ▲ fostering young small-scale farmers ▲ project budget execution performance ▲ and promotional achievements of the Small-Scale Farmer Project.
The Gokseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center received high praise for playing a significant role in improving farm management through strengthening small-scale farmer capabilities, fostering young small-scale farmers, and supporting autonomous small-scale farmer groups. In particular, it earned high marks for conducting small-scale farmer education by dividing it into basic and specialized courses for step-by-step customized capability enhancement.
Additionally, through capability enhancement education for autonomous small-scale farmer groups, it contributed to income generation and added value in agriculture by hosting farm parties,
and it has also made efforts to foster young small-scale farmers through practical education on business management improvement, including generating business ideas and marketing promotion of agricultural products.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center stated, "We will continue to operate various education and consulting programs to nurture competitive small-scale farmers."
