'Paris Baguette Baker Union Withdrawal Coercion', Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office Investigates
[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office has decided to investigate the case in which SPC forced Paris Baguette bakers to withdraw from the labor union.
According to the prosecution on the 6th, the Seongnam Branch of Suwon District Prosecutors' Office transferred the SPC PB Partners case, which was sent by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, to the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office at the end of last month. The prosecution explained that the decision was made considering SPC's corporate location and personnel situation.

Earlier, the Seongnam Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, which investigated the case, sent it to the prosecution with an opinion to indict SPC PB Partners CEO Hwang Jae-bok, four current and former executives, six department heads, and 17 middle managers on charges including violation of the Labor Union and Labor Relations Adjustment Act. CEO Hwang and others are suspected of urging bakers who joined the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions to withdraw and discriminating against union members of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions during the promotion process.
