‘Beautiful My Life’ … Gijang-gun Jeonggwan-eup Operates Well-Dying Education Program
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Administrative Welfare Center of Jeonggwan-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan, will conduct a well-dying education program titled "My Beautiful Life" from the 4th to December 2nd.
This program, targeting 20 elderly residents aged 65 and over in Jeonggwan-eup, is held in cooperation with the Busan Hospice Palliative Care Center and takes place every Friday from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM in the large conference room on the 3rd floor of the Jeonggwan-eup Education Happiness Center.
The program was prepared to help the elderly overcome their fear of death and improve negative perceptions amid population aging and a rapid increase in solitary deaths, enabling them to prepare for a dignified death on their own.
The main contents include ▲time for reflection ▲longevity photo shooting ▲near-death experience ▲legal consultations on wills, inheritance, and advance medical directives, with Kim Soyoung, Deputy Director of the Busan Hospice Palliative Care Center, serving as the instructor over a total of five sessions.
After the lectures, there will also be hobby activities for the elderly such as ▲making natural products (perfume, body cleanser, muscle pain reliever) and ▲creating fresh flower crafts (moss frames, trees), providing a diverse and enjoyable time.
One elderly participant said, "I had been interested in 'preparing for death,' but I did not know how or where to start. When I heard that the eup was conducting an education program, I decided to join," expressing anticipation for the upcoming sessions.
