Suwon City Pilots 'Robot' Introduction for Digital Administrative Innovation
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province is piloting the introduction of software robots RPA (Robotic Process Automation) for digital administrative innovation. RPA robots automate simple and repetitive tasks and have recently been adopted not only by private companies such as financial institutions but also by public organizations.
Starting from the 4th, Suwon City announced that it will process two tasks through RPA robots: selecting candidates for regular salary step increases and approving various certificate issuance applications.
The city expects to reduce the annual processing time by 75% for the task of 'selecting candidates for regular salary step increases' and by 83% for 'approving certificate issuance applications.'
Previously, the city conducted an RPA demand survey targeting all departments and identified 42 tasks. After a detailed analysis of the suitability for RPA implementation and workload of the identified tasks, and gathering departmental opinions, the city selected pilot RPA implementation tasks.
