Naju-si Operates 'Local Food Outdoor Market' at Geumseonggwan Until the 27th

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyuk] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Yoon Byung-tae) announced on the 2nd that it will operate a 'Local Food Outdoor Market' booth in front of Geumseonggwan every Saturday and Sunday until the 27th.

The Local Food Outdoor Market, held in collaboration with the Naju Agricultural and Rural Development Foundation, sells more than 30 types of fresh agricultural products and processed goods directly cultivated and processed by 8 companies and about 20 farms.

At the first market booth held on the 29th and 30th of last month, various agricultural products such as green onions, lettuce, sweet potatoes, millet, oats, and sorghum, selected with priority on eco-friendliness and freshness, as well as fruits like pears and Shine Muscat grapes, and processed products such as pear juice and canola oil were offered at reasonable prices, receiving great response.

Next to the Naju Mok Culture Center near the outdoor market is the Naju Local Food Direct Store No. 2, Geumnam Branch, housed in a traditional Hanok-style building.

At the Geumnam Branch, more than 260 types of agricultural and specialty products are sold, including Naju pears, Naju rice, processed foods made from pears and rice, salted seafood, beverages, vegetables, and tourism souvenirs (crafts).

Also, on the second floor, there is a tea house where visitors can enjoy four types of beverages (aides) made from Naju pears and traditional teas brewed using Naju agricultural products while overlooking the open Eupseong area.

A city official said, "Through the outdoor market, we are promoting Naju local food, which has been verified for its excellence, along with promoting our region as a must-visit tourist destination," adding, "We will continue to implement various promotional events to enhance accessibility between local food and consumers."
