'The Era of Literary Subscriptions': 16th Literary Courier Includes Novelist Lee Seung-woo and Poet Lee Soo-myung

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Korea Arts & Culture Education Service announced on the 2nd that novelist Lee Seung-woo and poet Lee Soo-myeong have been appointed as the 16th Literary Mail Carriers.
The Literary Mail Carrier project, launched in 2006, is an initiative by the Arts Council that delivers literary content like a mail carrier bringing welcome news every week. It features poetry, prose, and video content on a biweekly basis.
Poetry deliveries have been conducted with widely beloved literary figures such as poets Do Jong-hwan, Ahn Do-hyun, and Na Hee-deok, and prose deliveries with authors like Sung Suk-je, Kim Yeon-su, and Eun Hee-kyung. The 15th Literary Mail Carriers included poet Park Jun and novelist Pyun Hye-young.
Novelist Lee Seung-woo debuted in 1981 after winning the New Writer Award from the quarterly magazine "Korean Literature" and has written novels such as "Buoyancy of the Mind" and "Kang Tang." He recently published the full-length novel "In a Foreign Land."
Poet Lee Soo-myeong began his literary career in 1994 by winning the New Writer Award in the winter issue of the quarterly magazine "Writer's World," with his representative work being the poetry collection "Warehouse." He recently published the poetry collection "City Gas."
Before starting his activities, novelist Lee Seung-woo said, "I believe every sentence is written for one person reading that sentence at that moment," adding, "I will diligently deliver the writer’s heart to that one person through the sentences."
Poet Lee Soo-myeong expressed his thoughts, saying, "I hope this will be an opportunity to look a little closer at distant poems and more carefully at poems that are near."

The poetry and prose delivery content will begin with "Prose Delivery" on the 3rd and will continue every Thursday. The content can be accessed on the Literature Plaza website, the Literature Plaza YouTube channel, and through a mailing service. The mailing service can be subscribed to on the Literature Plaza website.
