Launch Ceremony of 'Volvo New Home Project' to Improve Children's Housing Environment Held
[Asia Economy Reporter Sunmi Park] Volvo Group Korea announced on the 31st that it has officially launched activities by holding the 'Volvo New Home Project' kickoff ceremony to improve group homes for child protection facilities and living spaces for single-parent families in the Changwon area, in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Korea and Saesalm, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Children's Day.
The 'Volvo New Home Project' kickoff ceremony was held on the 28th at the group home for child protection facilities 'Eunhyeui Jip' located in Changwon, Gyeongnam. Attendees included Sung-eun Shin, Executive Director of Volvo Construction Equipment Korea, Kwanghoe Lee, Secretary General of Habitat for Humanity Korea, and Jiyoung Lee, CEO of Saesalm. After the ceremony, space creator Jiyoung Lee conducted preliminary consulting with the staff to propose better spaces.
This newly launched 'Volvo New Home Project' from this year is carried out as a three-party partnership involving Volvo Construction Equipment Korea, Habitat for Humanity Korea, and the space consulting company Saesalm. Each organization has united with the intention to directly support group homes for child protection centers and single-parent families in need of environmental improvements within the local community, expecting to provide positive and sustainable changes to the children involved.
The newly expanded 'Volvo New Home Project' has broadened its support scope to include group homes for child protection centers and single-parent families in the region to extend more helping hands to children and adolescents in vulnerable residential environments. This project is designed not only for renovation work on living spaces but also to deliver the value of positive and sustainable spaces to local children and youth, with Saesalm's space creators participating through pro bono internal space consulting.
Volvo Group Korea and Habitat for Humanity will commence renovation work on the group homes based on the preliminary consulting results by space creator Jiyoung Lee, conducting space consulting work to newly configure the children's residential environment and spaces. Employees of Volvo Group Korea will actively participate in the construction process for environmental improvement, contributing to the child residential environment improvement project.
