Jeongeup-si Successfully Hosts the 28th Citizens' Day Commemoration Ceremony
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 31st that the 28th Jeongeup Citizens' Day ceremony was successfully concluded on the 29th at the special stage in Jeongeupsa Park.
About 1,000 people attended the event, including Mayor Lee Hak-su, National Assembly member Yoon Jun-byeong, Jeongeup City Council Chairman Go Gyeong-yun, provincial and city council members, officials from sister cities, heads of organizations, and citizens.
The ceremony began with a pre-event performance by the Municipal Gugak Orchestra, followed by the presentation of the Citizens' Award and appreciation plaques, commemorative speeches, congratulatory speeches, and the singing of the Citizens' Song.
In the congratulatory performances, popular singers Kim Yong-im, Lee Yong, Aurora, Last For One, and Bang Seo-hee appeared, presenting a variety of performances that heightened the event's atmosphere.
At the highlight of the Citizens' Day event, the Jeongeup Citizens' Award ceremony, four recipients were honored: Cultural Award to Kim Young-su, Director of Jeongeup Cultural Center; Industry Award to Seo Seon-min, CEO of Hairline; Filial Piety Award to Lee Jeong-min; and Agriculture Award to Yoo Nam-young, Chairman of Jeongeup Nonghyup Cooperative.
Additionally, Kim Ho-seok, Chairman of Daeil Development, received an appreciation plaque in recognition of his contributions to the development of Jeongeup City administration.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, "The true owners of Jeongeup are the citizens," and added, "I hope this Citizens' Day will serve as a strong starting point for a citizen-centered, livable Jeongeup, and a leading Jeongeup."
