[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Eastern Park Leisure Center announced on the 31st that it has completely replaced the engine-powered blowers used for cleaning fallen leaves in the park with eco-friendly rechargeable ones.
The Eastern Park Leisure Center is making efforts to improve the quality of life by managing the health of park workers and improving their working environment. The center conducts biannual work environment measurements and special health examinations for harmful factors to manage the health of park workers, and based on the results, has established the 'Worker Hearing Preservation Safety and Health Management Guidelines.'
With the introduction of lightweight equipment, female workers can use it without burden, enabling park management tasks that break away from traditional gender roles. According to regulations, the Eastern Park Leisure Center conducts recruitment and hiring of field workers without discrimination based on age, gender, or status without reasonable cause, so there is no fixed male-to-female ratio during hiring.
Additionally, winter snow cleaning can be done easily and conveniently with rechargeable blowers, which is expected to help prevent safety accidents such as falls on icy paths by park users. The Eastern Park Leisure Center plans to practice eco-friendly park management to realize a carbon-neutral city by gradually replacing park management equipment such as blowers, brush cutters, pruners, and chainsaws with modern equipment.
