He urged them to do their best in treating the injured and to provide meticulous support to the deceased and their families.
On the afternoon of the same day, Prime Minister Han visited the National Medical Center Situation Room and Seoul National University Hospital, stating, "It is a tragic feeling that 151 people have died so far due to the unfortunate accident that should never have happened in Itaewon yesterday," and gave these instructions.
At the National Medical Center Situation Room, Prime Minister Han said, "There are still people who have sustained minor and major injuries and are being transported to hospitals for treatment," adding, "The government must mobilize all available medical systems to ensure thorough treatment of the injured and do its utmost to prevent further damage."
He continued, "The National Medical Center is the control tower for emergency situation management," and added, "Please do your best to check in real-time whether there are any deficiencies in patient transport and treatment on site and to provide timely support."
He also emphasized, "I understand that the injured and deceased have been transported to the National Medical Center as well," and said, "Please focus on treating the seriously injured and especially take meticulous care in supporting the deceased and their families."
