[Itaewon Tragedy] Business Community "Deep Condolences... Will Contribute to a Safer Society"
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] On the night of the 29th, the business community expressed condolences to the victims of the Itaewon accident and comforted the bereaved families.
The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry stated in a condolence statement released on the 30th, "We pray for the repose of the victims of this accident and offer our deepest condolences to the bereaved families," adding, "We wish for the speedy recovery of the injured."
They expressed strong agreement with the declaration of a national mourning period and the prioritization of post-accident measures. The Chamber said, "We hope this tragedy serves as an opportunity to review and fundamentally rebuild our society's safety system to prevent such heartbreaking accidents from recurring," and added, "The business community will also seek and implement various measures to contribute to creating a safer society at the corporate level."
The Federation of Korean Industries said, "We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families who must be in shock and sorrow due to the sudden news," and "We also wish for the speedy recovery of the injured." They continued, "It is especially heartbreaking that the majority of the victims were young people who are the future leaders of the Republic of Korea," and "The business community hopes the accident will be resolved quickly."

The Korea Employers Federation also expressed condolences regarding the accident the previous day, stating, "We pray for the repose of those who passed away in this unfortunate accident and wish for the speedy recovery of the injured." They extended comfort to the bereaved families and hoped for a swift resolution of the accident.
