Seoul City Council Selects Seol Eun-ju, CEO of Jubilee Bank, as Witness Regarding Seongnam FC's 3.9 Billion KRW Advertising Fee
Seoul City Council Health and Welfare Committee Member Hwang Yujeong, "Will Audit Jubilee Bank's Organization Operation for Alignment with Establishment Purpose from Citizens' Perspective"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Hwang Yoo-jung, a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Council's Health and Welfare Committee (photo), announced that Seol Eun-joo, CEO of Huimang Sallim (currently Jubilee Bank), is scheduled to attend as a witness for the administrative audit.
The Health and Welfare Committee's request for witness adoption has been transferred to the medical department, and the chairman is in the process of sending an attendance notice. Huimang Sallim is a nonprofit public corporation in Seoul currently operating as Jubilee Bank.
The abnormal operation of Huimang Sallim has recently become a national concern following issues raised during the National Assembly audit. Councilor Hwang stated that since the Seoul nonprofit public corporation received 4 billion KRW in sponsorship funds from companies, of which 3.9 billion KRW was used to support advertising fees for Seongnam FC in Gyeonggi Province?activities unrelated to the organization's founding purpose?and there are suspicions of quid pro quo, a council-level audit is necessary.

Councilor Hwang Yoo-jung said, “Huimang Sallim registered as a nonprofit public corporation in Seoul to carry out debt relief campaigns for ordinary citizens. Given the many issues revealed through the National Assembly audit and media reports, we intend to question whether the organization's activities align with the purpose of establishing a public corporation and whether Seoul City is properly managing and supervising it, all from the perspective of the citizens, to resolve these concerns.”
