The food delivery platform Coupang Eats Service held a commemorative event at Coupang's Jamsil headquarters on the same day to celebrate the achievement of being the first in the food delivery industry to obtain ISO 45001 certification.
Coupang Eats Service acquired the certification through the global certification body DNV Business Assurance Korea. The event was attended by Kim Myung-kyu, CEO of Coupang Eats Service, Anne Kari Hansen, nominee for the Ambassador of Norway to Korea, and Lee So-young, CEO of DNV.
Previously, Coupang Eats doubled its safety budget this year compared to last year to promote the health and safety of delivery drivers, and proceeded with obtaining the certification based on specific safety improvement activities carried out through this effort.
Specifically, they strengthened shutdown criteria during severe weather conditions such as heavy rain and heavy snow to prevent safety accidents, and provided KC-certified helmets to approximately 8,000 delivery drivers nationwide.
For two consecutive years, delivery drivers participated in traffic safety experience education programs conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority under the sponsorship of Coupang Eats Service, learning safe driving attitudes and braking techniques.
