BTS Jin Releases First Solo Single 'The Astronaut' Today (28th)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Jin, the eldest member of the group BTS, is releasing his first solo single.
On the 28th at 1 PM, Jin will simultaneously release the audio and music video of his first solo single, "The Astronaut," worldwide. Through this song, Jin is expected to showcase a unique charm as a solo artist.
"The Astronaut" is an impressive song that harmonizes calm acoustic guitar with gradually intensifying synth sounds in the pop rock genre. Previously, Coldplay raised anticipation by posting a video on SNS on the 27th that offers a glimpse of the atmosphere of "The Astronaut."
Co-written by Jin, "The Astronaut" expresses his affection for ARMY and highlights Jin’s qualities as a vocalist. Jin’s distinctive sensibility maximizes the refreshing yet dreamy mood of the song. Big Hit Music, his agency, added that Coldplay’s collaboration created an unprecedented synergy.
With the release of this solo single album, interest in Jin’s previous solo songs is also increasing. "Super Tuna," released on the 21st, ranked number one on the iTunes "Top Songs" chart in 39 countries/regions (as of 3 AM on October 27), while "Abyss" and "Tonight" each topped the iTunes "Top Songs" charts in 17 and 16 countries/regions, respectively.
Meanwhile, after the new song release, Jin will appear as a special guest on the 28th (local time) at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during Coldplay’s world tour "Music Of The Spheres." Jin will perform the new song "The Astronaut" on stage with Coldplay. This video will be released on BTS’s official YouTube channel after the concert ends.
