The Ministry announced on the 27th that it will operate the 'Next-Generation System Emergency Response Headquarters,' led by First Vice Minister Lee Ki-il, starting from that day to promptly resolve public inconveniences caused by errors in the next-generation welfare services.
Previously, since the 14th, the Ministry had been operating the 'Next-Generation System Stabilization Task Force,' headed by the Director of the Social Welfare Policy Office, but this has been reorganized into the Emergency Response Headquarters led by the Vice Minister.
On the same day, Vice Minister Lee held the first meeting with the Korea Social Security Information Service, the operator of the next-generation welfare system, to check the occurrence and handling status of system errors. During the meeting, it was decided to strengthen individual case responses by having the Ministry separately share the list of beneficiaries who missed their October payments on the regular payment date but are eligible for payment with local governments, so that they can take measures such as manual payments and emergency welfare support.
Later that afternoon, Vice Minister Lee visited Gangseo District Office and Hwagok 6-dong Community Service Center in Seoul to inspect the work processing status and stated, "We will do our utmost to stabilize the system quickly so that local welfare officials and the public do not experience inconvenience."
