Gwangju Seo-gu to Hold Eoullim Hanmadang at Sangmu Citizen Park on the 28th

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim I-gang) announced on the 25th that it will hold the ‘2022 Eoullim Hanmadang’ at Sangmu Citizen’s Park on the 28th.

This event is a time for intergenerational communication and harmony where all generations, from children to the elderly, can participate, and it will be held in three parts.

The first part, starting at 2 p.m., will begin with a youth popular arts performance, followed by the opening declaration, welcome speech, and congratulatory remarks. Under the theme ‘We who participate are the owners of the village,’ a calligraphy performance expressing the determination for future village activities will take place.

The second part will feature a resident autonomy program contest along with neighborhood sports competitions such as large ball rolling and shoe throwing, in which residents can participate. An awards ceremony for the village activity video contest produced by the resident autonomy (committee) associations of 18 neighborhoods will also be held.

The third part will deliver messages of hope and happiness to all Seo-gu residents through various performances including pop opera, trot, and a DJ party, concluding with fireworks.

In addition, various promotional and experiential programs such as a welfare policy trail stamp tour and lifelong learning experience booths will be operated, along with a children’s happiness playground featuring magic shows, bubble performances, clown balloon shows, and air bounces (in 4 neighborhoods).

Kim I-gang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “I hope that Eoullim Hanmadang, held for the first time in four years, will be a time of communication and harmony where all generations from children to the elderly come together and participate,” and added, “We ask for the residents’ great interest and participation so that it can be a happy journey where all Seo-gu residents become one.”

Meanwhile, Seo-gu was recently selected as the district with the most excellent cases nationwide for seven consecutive years in the nationwide resident autonomy expo’s excellent case results by category.
