[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Although auroras can only be seen in the Arctic and the Milky Way can be enjoyed in remote night skies, artificial versions of these can now be seen in Miryang, Gyeongnam.
Miryang Arirang Space Observatory, managed by Miryang City Facilities Management Corporation, will pilot operate the media art "Starlight Aurora Plaza," which combines stars and music, from the 24th until November 4th.
As part of the Miryang Arirang Space Observatory's specialization project, Starlight Aurora Plaza is a music plaza where art lighting is installed in the observatory's wide plaza, allowing anyone to enjoy the stars at night outside of viewing hours.
The Starlight Aurora Plaza adds colorful design lighting to the previously dark and dim observatory plaza, designed to give visitors the feeling of walking on the Milky Way with family and loved ones.
The operating hours are daily from sunset until 10 PM. Currently, the plaza features art lighting themed around stars, the Milky Way, and auroras, with plans to change themes each season to create various atmospheres.
