Kim Jongdeuk, Chair of the Culture and Welfare Committee, said, "For the first time among metropolitan local governments nationwide, we have enacted an ordinance establishing the legal basis for the priority purchase of local products by public institutions within the region." He added, "Since most of the public institutions subject to the ordinance are operated with Incheon City’s budget, it is expected to help prevent budget outflow outside the region and revitalize the local economy through a virtuous cycle of consumption within the region."
