Chungnam Implements 'Wildfire Prevention Measures' for Autumn Leisure Season
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province is implementing wildfire prevention measures in line with the autumn outing season.
The province announced on the 24th that it has designated the period from November 1 to December 15 as the "Autumn Wildfire Prevention Period." During this time, the province will form regional wildfire response headquarters in 216 organizations, including frontline cities, counties, business offices, and eup/myeon/dong administrative units, maintaining an emergency duty system to fully focus on wildfire prevention.
Proactively, the province deployed a total of three leased helicopters on the 22nd in three zones: Cheonan, Nonsan, and Hongseong, to enable initial firefighting in case of wildfire outbreaks.
Additionally, ground wildfire suppression teams and wildfire watchers have been deployed forward, establishing a three-dimensional wildfire prevention and initial firefighting system together with the firefighting helicopters.
The province is also conducting wildfire prevention campaigns, including banning the carrying of fire-related materials when entering the mountains during the wildfire prevention period.
