Sibelius Competition Winner Yang In-mo Performs with Busan Philharmonic on Its 60th Anniversary

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Violinist Yang Inmo (27) will hold his first domestic collaboration stage after winning the prestigious Sibelius Competition.
The Lotte Cultural Foundation announced on the 23rd that it will hold the 'Busan Philharmonic Orchestra & Yang Inmo' concert, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul on the 10th of next month.
The Busan Philharmonic Orchestra will first hold a commemorative concert in Busan on the 2nd of next month, the anniversary of its founding. Founded in 1962, the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra is the third oldest orchestra in Korea. Yang Inmo will appear as a soloist in both performances by the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra.
In May, Yang Inmo became the first Korean to win first place at the Jean Sibelius International Violin Competition held in Helsinki, Finland. He was also recognized for his skill by receiving the Best Interpretation Award for a contemporary work.
Under the baton of conductor Choi Suyeol, the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra and Yang Inmo will perform violin concertos by contemporary composer Jin Eun-sook and Richard Strauss's symphonic poem "Also sprach Zarathustra." Yang Inmo was also selected as the Artist of the Year by the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra.
Notably, from 2017 for three years, the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra attracted attention as the first domestic orchestra to perform the complete symphonic poems of Richard Strauss.

The Busan Philharmonic Orchestra stated that organist Shin Dongil, a professor at Yonsei University and one of Korea's leading organists, will join the performance of Richard Strauss's symphonic poem "Also sprach Zarathustra," offering a rich melody.
