Gangjin-gun Confirms Submission Schedule for the 22nd Korea Celadon Contest
Total Prize Money of 32.2 Million Won, First Document Submission from December 5 to 12
[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] The Jeonnam Goryeo Celadon Museum has finalized the schedule for the "22nd Korea Celadon Contest" as part of the Gangjin Celadon Buddha Festival planning events.
The first round of document submissions will take place over 8 days from December 5 to December 12. Originally, submissions were scheduled to begin in August, but the celadon festival was postponed to February next year, resulting in a delayed submission schedule.
The contest theme remains "食 (eat)," and all celadon works related to this theme can be submitted. However, works related to last year's theme "飮 (drink)" are excluded.
Submissions must be made using celadon clay and glaze. Additionally, works should express the beauty of celadon in various forms and techniques according to the theme, and pieces that combine commercial value and practicality are eligible regardless of the artist's nationality or age.
The grand prize winner will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and a prize of 10 million KRW. Two winners will be selected for the Excellence Award, two for the Merit Award, and ten for the Special Selection, all receiving certificates and prize money.
The final judging results will be announced on January 13 next year, and the winning works will be exhibited from February to showcase to tourists.
For more detailed information about the contest, contact the Exhibition Operations Team at the Goryeo Celadon Museum or visit the museum's website.
