Enhancing School Honor! ... Dong-Eui University Awards 'Hyomin Award of the Year'

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dong-Eui University selected current students who have enhanced the school's honor through various competitions, academic activities, and good deeds at home and abroad, and awarded the ‘2022 Hyomin Award’ along with scholarships on the 20th in the conference room on the 2nd floor of the main building.
This year's awardees are Jang Jong-hyeok, a sophomore majoring in Newspaper and Broadcasting, and the BISANG team consisting of Im So-mi, Kim Hyun-jung, and Kim Yoo-jin from the Department of Clinical Pathology.
Student Jang Jong-hyeok elevated the school's honor by winning the Grand Prize at the 8th Coastal Management Promotion Content Contest hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Coastal Association, and receiving the Lighthouse Award at the 2nd Ulsan Regional Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Office's 15-second marine-related video contest.
The BISANG team of Im So-mi, Kim Hyun-jung, and Kim Yoo-jin was selected for the Hyomin Award after receiving the Excellent Poster Award at the Korean Clinical Pathology Professors Association Student Academic Conference and the Korean Life Sciences International Academic Conference.
Senior Park Ga-hyeon, majoring in Bio-Pharmaceutical Engineering, who received three Excellent Presentation Awards at the Korean Fisheries Science Society Academic Conference in 2021 and 2022, and senior Kim Seung-joo, majoring in Applied Chemistry, who won the Grand Prize at the 2021 Startup Intellectual Property Online Festival and published a paper as the first author in the 2022 Korean Society of Image Science Journal, were also selected.
Since 2010, Dong-Eui University has established the Hyomin Award to express gratitude to students who have enhanced the school's honor both internally and externally and to encourage them to grow into even greater talents, awarding it in line with the university's anniversary.
The scholarship for the Hyomin Award is provided by the Faculty and Staff Scholarship Association, which is funded monthly by contributions from professors and staff.

The name ‘Hyomin (曉民)’ means a person who diligently works from dawn and a place where the first light of dawn lingers, and it has been used as another symbol of Dong-Eui University since its founding.
