‘Chadalm’ Lee Sang-min, Running to Promote Busan Shoes... Appointed as Busan Shoe Industry Ambassador
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Lee Sang-min, a broadcaster and host of the popular TV program ‘Chadalnam (The Man Running the Chart),’ has been appointed as the ‘Busan Shoe Ambassador.’
Busan City announced on the 20th that it appointed Lee Sang-min, a singer and entertainment planner, as the ‘Busan Shoe Industry Ambassador’ to revitalize the shoe industry and create a global shoe brand linked to the 2030 Busan World Expo.
Lee Sang-min is also widely known to the public as a shoe collector. Due to his family’s financial situation during his childhood, he could not have the shoes he wanted, which led him to start collecting shoes one by one from the time he began economic activities on his own to ease that regret. This collecting activity eventually made him a shoe collector.
Additionally, Lee Sang-min has a deep interest in the Busan shoe industry, knowing detailed information such as the story of the global brand ‘Nike’ growing through Busan City, the fact that Busan was once the world’s largest sneaker production city, and that certain sneaker models were developed and produced in Busan shoe factories.
With this background, Busan City decided to appoint him as the Busan Shoe Industry Ambassador on the 20th, the day of the opening ceremony of the ‘2022 PaePae Busan (Busan International Shoe, Textile & Fashion Exhibition)’ held at BEXCO.
The appointment ceremony is scheduled to be held at 1 p.m. on October 21 at the PaePae Busan exhibition hall due to Lee Sang-min’s broadcasting schedule, and after the ceremony, he will tour the exhibition hall and participate in side events and other activities.
Lee Sang-min, appointed as the ambassador, said, “I sincerely thank Busan City and the Shoe Industry Promotion Center for appointing me as the Shoe Industry Ambassador. Although I have faced many ups and downs in my life and some difficulties due to changes in the industrial environment, I feel a strong sense of affinity with the sincere efforts of the Busan shoe industry striving toward a progressive direction.”
The ambassador added, “I will do my best to be a great support to the Busan shoe industry and to play a significant role as a partner contributing to the expansion of small and medium shoe brands both domestically and internationally.”
