Gyeongbuk Gunwi County Council Member's Annual Allowance for Next Year Set at 32.84 Million Won, 1.4% Increase from This Year

The council remuneration for Gunwi County Council members consists of a fixed monthly allowance for official duties and an activity allowance for collecting council materials and conducting research.
Gunwi County recently held the Council Remuneration Deliberation Committee twice and decided to increase next year's council remuneration by 1.4%, matching the local government officials' salary increase rate.
The Council Remuneration Deliberation Committee finalized next year's fixed monthly allowance at 19.64 million KRW, up 270,000 KRW from this year's 19.37 million KRW.
Accordingly, Gunwi County Council members will receive a total council remuneration of 32.84 million KRW next year, combining the activity allowance of 13.2 million KRW, which is the maximum amount specified in the Local Autonomy Act Enforcement Decree, and the newly decided fixed monthly allowance of 19.64 million KRW.

The Council Remuneration Deliberation Committee also resolved to increase the fixed monthly allowance annually from 2024 to 2026 in line with the local government officials' salary increase rate. The decision from this deliberation meeting will be notified to the chairman of the Gunwi County Council by the 31st and is expected to be applied from next year through an amendment to the county council ordinance.
