View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Homeplus announced on the 20th that it will hold a 'Fry Day' event on the 21st and 22nd to celebrate the cumulative sales of 1 million units of the Dangdang series.
During this event, customers who purchase two or more of the 11 popular fried items, including Dangdang Chicken, Hanpan Dakgangjeong, and Chili Cream Combo Chinese-style Shrimp, will receive a 10% discount. The new menu items, Dangdang Handon Fried and Dangdang Handon Galbi-flavored Fried, feature domestically sourced pork fried to a crispy exterior and moist interior. The Galbi-flavored Fried is the Handon Fried with a spicy sweet and salty sauce added.
The Dangdang Fried and Sweet Seasoned Chicken, first introduced by Homeplus on June 30 this year, have attracted much attention from customers due to their generous portions, great taste, and affordable prices ranging from 6,000 to 7,000 KRW. In fact, the seven items in the Dangdang series have surpassed cumulative sales of 1.05 million units from their launch date through the 17th. Based on the average daily operating hours of stores, approximately 12 units are sold every minute.
The Dangdang series operates under the slogan of 100% same-day cooking and same-day sales, offering limited quantities of products freshly prepared at each store daily. As of the 17th, the waste rate of the Dangdang series is about 0.1%, and sales times and quantities vary by store, considering each store's size and system.
