View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) held the '2022 K-Expo Vietnam' in Hanoi, Vietnam, from the 15th (local time) to the 18th to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Vietnam. This event was jointly organized with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Small Enterprise and Market Service.
A total of over 110 domestic companies participated in the K-Expo. KITA conducted export marketing related to products from 20 companies certified under 'Brand K.' Brand K is a certification granted to promising small and medium-sized enterprises representing Korea. It is part of the national representative brand project implemented by KITA and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups since 2020.
KITA held promotional events including product experience and sales targeting local consumers who visited the venue in connection with the K-POP concert and other Hallyu performances held at the Hanoi National Convention Center (NCC) on the 15th and 16th. On the 17th and 18th, export consultations were conducted both online and offline between 99 buyers from six ASEAN countries including Vietnam and 20 Brand K companies at the Hanoi JW Marriott Hotel. As a result, there were a total of 287 export consultations, one on-site export contract, and two memorandums of understanding signed for original design manufacturing (ODM) supply.

Kim Hyuncheol, Head of Global Cooperation Division at KITA, said, "Vietnam is Korea's third-largest export destination after China and the United States and a key trading partner," adding, "Despite global economic recession concerns, Vietnam is expected to maintain high economic growth of 6-7% this year and next year, so we will actively support Korean companies' entry into the local market."
