'Smile Jumper' Woo Sang-hyeok to Join Yongin City Hall Team Starting Next Year... Signing Ceremony on the 20th

On the 19th, Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold an entrance ceremony for athlete Woo Sang-hyeok of the Yongin City Hall athletics team at 2 p.m. on the 20th at Mir Stadium in Samga-dong, Cheoin-gu. After the ceremony, Woo will participate in various competitions as a member of Yongin City Hall from January next year until December 2024 for two years.
Woo Sang-hyeok rose to the world elite level by finishing 4th at the Tokyo Olympics last year. This year, he has made new history in Korean athletics by winning the gold medal at the 2022 World Indoor Athletics Championships in March, the silver medal at the outdoor World Championships in July, and the Doha Diamond League victory in May. He has also reached the No. 1 world ranking in men's high jump.
Earlier, on the 12th, Woo competed as a member of Seocheon County Office in Chungnam Province at the men's general high jump final of the '103rd National Sports Festival' held at Ulsan Sports Complex, clearing 2.15 meters to win the gold medal.
