Cheonseon Landfill, which began operation in July 1992, is a landfill for non-combustible household waste generated in the Uichang and Seongsan-gu areas. It is the largest of the three household waste landfills located in Changwon City. Currently, an average of 156 tons is brought in daily, the landfill rate is 64%, and it is scheduled to be closed by 2060.
The Cheonseon Landfill prevents indiscriminate dumping through household waste intake mapping and minimizes odor and pest damage caused by waste landfill by conducting landfill cover and quarantine measures.
On the 18th, Deputy Mayor Cho visited the landfill, thoroughly inspecting the leachate treatment plant and landfill site, closely observing the entire process of household waste being landfilled, and met with on-site personnel monitoring the incoming waste to hear about their difficulties.
