GS Construction Promotes Nuclear Clean Hydrogen Industry Development in Uljin
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] GS Engineering & Construction is advancing a future-oriented clean energy nuclear clean hydrogen project.
GS Engineering & Construction announced on the 19th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the "Promotion of Nuclear Clean Hydrogen Industry" with Uljin County at its headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 18th. The signing ceremony was attended by about 10 officials, including Shin Sangcheol, CEO of the ECO Business Division, and Son Byeongbok, Mayor of Uljin County.
Through this MOU, GS Engineering & Construction will participate in the Uljin Nuclear Hydrogen National Industrial Complex. Its roles will include ▲establishing a clean hydrogen production plant linked to Small Modular Reactors (SMR) ▲participating in the development project of the nuclear hydrogen national industrial complex ▲constructing a seawater desalination plant and supplying industrial water to the national industrial complex.

A GS Engineering & Construction official said, "Through this MOU, we have taken the first step toward a project to produce clean hydrogen using nuclear power, which is called future clean energy," adding, "We will continue to discover new business opportunities necessary to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and strive to become a leading sustainable management company in Korea."
