Samsung Heavy Industries Secures Order for Two Large Gas Carriers Worth 270.7 Billion KRW
Annual Order Target of $8.8 Billion Achieved at 84%
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyoon] Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 19th that it has signed a construction contract for two large gas carriers (VLGC) with a shipowner in the African region.
The total order amount is 270.7 billion KRW. These vessels are scheduled to be delivered sequentially by December 2025.
Including this contract, Samsung Heavy Industries has secured a total of 39 vessels worth 7.4 billion USD (approximately 10.5 trillion KRW) so far this year. These include 28 LNG carriers, 2 gas carriers, and 9 container ships.

Samsung Heavy Industries stated, "We have achieved 84% of the annual order target of 8.8 billion USD (12.45 trillion KRW), and are on track to meet the target for the second consecutive year."
