Sinan-gun Hosts 'Korea Native Orchid Exhibition'
Experience the Charm of Native Orchids on 1004 Island, Sinan
[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, a treasure trove of native Korean orchids, will hold the '2022 Korea Native Orchid Exhibition' for two days from the 29th to the 30th at the Sinan National Sports Center in Amtae-myeon, Sinan-gun.
Hosted by Sinan-gun and organized by the Korea Native Orchid Exhibition Association, the 'Korea Native Orchid Exhibition' has been elevated to the status of the "Prime Minister's Award" since last year, increasing participation and interest from orchid enthusiasts nationwide.
During the event, visitors can admire about 1,000 rare native orchids from Korea and abroad, including Korean Choonran, Jeju Hanran, Pungran, Seokgok, Saeuran, Jinebalran, and Hokran. There will also be orchid auctions, native orchid clinic experience booths, and local agricultural and marine product sales areas. Additionally, a promotional corner for the '2023 National Saeuran Festival,' to be held in April next year, will be featured.
The Korea Native Orchid Association, which organizes this event, is an orchid-related organization supported by the Korea Forest Service and based on 23 nationwide branches. It holds a strong position among orchid enthusiasts and the orchid community nationwide.

Furthermore, since 2014, the Korea Native Orchid Association has signed an MOU with Sinan-gun and has been steadily continuing restoration projects of native orchids (such as Pungran and Seokgok) in areas including Imjado and Aphaedo in Sinan-gun for nine years.
