The association had operated consultations only online since the COVID-19 pandemic but recently dispatched a technology exchange delegation to Uzbekistan in August after two years due to eased quarantine guidelines. In this consultation, five domestic technology-innovative SMEs directly visited Indonesia and discussed various cooperation plans mediated by technology, such as technology licensing (technology export), parts and equipment export, and establishing Korea-Indonesia joint ventures, together with more than 50 local companies.
Indonesia is implementing the 'Digital Roadmap 2021-2024 for Fostering the Digital Industry' policy, setting priority areas for digital transformation and promoting infrastructure construction, e-government establishment, digital talent development, and digital society development to nurture these areas.
Accordingly, this consultation involved domestic companies possessing technologies such as IoT (Internet of Things) wireless integrated sensor solutions, smart factories, smart buildings, and convergence-type IoT for smart logistics, tailored to the demands of the Indonesian local government. Through a total of 33 exchanges, eight memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed for technology export cooperation with local companies. Mr. Henra, Director of Legal and External Cooperation at the Indonesian Ministry of SMEs, said, “I am confident that the technology exchange cooperation projects between the two countries will help the technological innovation of Indonesian SMEs.”
Kim Sejong, Director of Policy Research at the Inno-Biz Association, said, “Through the local visit, we laid the groundwork for domestic innovative companies with excellent technology to pioneer export routes and exchange cooperation in Indonesia,” adding, “We will spare no support so that SMEs with manufacturing innovation technologies, such as Inno-Biz companies, can continuously lead the development of new export markets.”
