Seoul City Establishes '3D Drone Monitoring System' to Promote Drone Activation
Seoul City - Clover Studio Sign MOU for Developing Drone Service Model Based on S-MAP
Pilot Project to Establish Radio Wave Map for Drone Autonomous Flight and Develop Autonomous Flight System
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 19th that it has signed a business agreement with Clover Studio to promote drone spatial information and is pushing forward with the construction of an integrated drone monitoring system based on S-MAP.
Through this agreement, Seoul City plans to pilot the production of a radio wave map for autonomous drone flight and expand it into a "Drone Road" to ensure drone safety management and accident prevention. Currently, two-dimensional maps are used for drone flights, but they lack information on terrain height, buildings, utility poles, high-voltage lines, and other obstacles, making it difficult to operate drones safely.
Additionally, Seoul City plans to make efforts to activate the drone spatial information new industry and provide citizen-tailored services by securing the latest drone spatial information and establishing an operational support system (infrastructure). By securing the latest drone spatial information, it will build realistic spatial information for major changing areas such as bridges and overpasses, which were difficult to capture with aerial photographs, and create pedestrian-level realistic data for walking space facilities and convenience facilities around the Han River and waterfront areas.
