Imsil-gun, Tourist Visits Continue Even After Cheese Festival Ends

[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Although this year's Imsil N Cheese Festival has ended, the festival's excitement continues as numerous tourists flock to see the beautiful chrysanthemum flower scenery, which exceeds ten million blossoms.

According to the county on the 17th, the Imsil N Cheese Festival held from the 7th to the 10th attracted the largest crowd in history, achieving great success.

The county confirmed that sales of dairy products such as cheese and pizza increased by 27% to 800 million KRW compared to 2019 when the festival was held normally, reaffirming Imsil as the birthplace of cheese in Korea. Through various experience booths, sales also increased by 26% to 300 million KRW.

Additionally, with continuous promotion and special attention to chrysanthemum landscaping, about 110,000 people visited over the past week, and it is expected that many tourists will visit until the end of this month when the chrysanthemums begin to wilt.

During the festival period, Imsil Cheese Theme Park was crowded with many tourists, including those who could not visit during the festival and students on field trips, filling the parking spaces all day long.

In particular, the main chrysanthemum scenery in front of Cheese Castle, the highlight of the chrysanthemum landscaping, and the Rainbow Bridge area were bustling with people taking photos, sometimes lining up in long queues. The side of the clock tower and the back of Wind Hill’s Korean chrysanthemum (Gujeolcho) are also popular photo zones for tourists.

People continue to visit at night to see the splendid night lighting, so it is expected that the festival's excitement will continue day and night throughout this month.

County Governor Shim Min said, “With the great success of the Imsil N Cheese Festival, it seems that the nationwide branding of Imsil N Cheese has been successfully achieved,” adding, “We will pay more attention to the safety management of infrastructure so that many tourists visiting Imsil Cheese Theme Park can satisfy all five senses with sights, food, and entertainment.”
