CU to Launch Alcohol Marketplace on App... Up to 40% Discount

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] CU announced on the 17th that it will hold an alcoholic beverage market on its membership application (app) PocketCU, offering up to 40% discounts on over 1,000 popular wines and spirits until the 20th.
The alcoholic beverage market, held for the first time this year, is the largest online liquor event ever planned by CU. CU's wine and spirits product planners (MDs) secured quantities of popular products that had only been sold at offline bottle shops for two months and minimized margins to enhance price competitiveness.
They are showcasing French Grand Cru (grades 1 to 5) wines such as Ch?teau Mouton Rothschild 2000 and Ch?teau Lafite Rothschild 2000, Chilean luxury wine Almaviva 2019, the limited-production Italian cult wine Ornellaia 2018, and the American Justin Pication 2016.
About 30 types of spirits specially procured by CU can be purchased daily from 11 a.m., depending on the product category. Asian whiskey will be available on the 17th, bourbon whiskey on the 18th, and single malt whiskey on the 19th and 20th.
According to CU, sales of premium wines and whiskeys priced over 200,000 KRW on PocketCU from January to September this year increased by 288.3% and 412%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
