Korean Air to Resume Cabin Crew Recruitment After 3 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Korean Air announced on the 14th that it will publicly recruit cabin crew members. This is the first cabin crew recruitment in three years since 2019.
The recruitment scale is over 100 people. Applications can be submitted through the Korean Air recruitment website until the 4th of next month.
In this cabin crew recruitment, Korean Air has partially changed the screening process considering the COVID-19 situation and applicant convenience. Korean Air is introducing a 'non-face-to-face video interview' method. The non-face-to-face video interview requires applicants to record a video of up to 3 minutes using their mobile phones and submit it for evaluation. Korean Air expects that this method will reduce time and space constraints, lessen the burden on applicants, and allow them to demonstrate their abilities and strengths in a more familiar and comfortable environment.
Along with this, the physical fitness test method has also changed. Previously, applicants were gathered to take the test. However, starting with this recruitment, it will be replaced by a fitness certification method conducted by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation for the convenience of applicants. Applicants can make a reservation for a convenient location and time at one of the 76 certification centers nationwide through the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation website and receive the certification free of charge.
Korean Air is also recruiting specialized personnel in various fields such as flight crew, IT professionals, and technical positions besides cabin crew. Detailed recruitment information by job category can be found on the Korean Air recruitment website.
A Korean Air official stated, "Currently, passenger volume still has not reached pre-COVID-19 levels, and some cabin crew members are still on leave," adding, "However, we decided to proceed with recruitment to proactively prepare for a significant increase in international passenger demand after the resumption of visa-free tourism to Japan later this year." He also added, "Another purpose is to provide quality jobs to those who have dreamed of becoming cabin crew but have not had the opportunity to work since COVID-19."
