Hanjin Strengthens International Logistics Business with Vietnam's Leading Courier Company 'Vietnam Post'
Signing of Business Agreement to Strengthen International Logistics Operations
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hanjin announced on the 14th that it will strengthen the Southeast Asian logistics market by partnering with Vietnam Post (VN POST), the number one courier company in Vietnam, to enhance international logistics business between Korea and Vietnam.
Hanjin currently operates international logistics businesses such as forwarding and land transportation with key bases in Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia, and is working to expand its network to Indonesia, Thailand, and other countries to strengthen logistics operations in the Southeast Asian region.
Vietnam Post is also the largest state-owned logistics company in Vietnam, operating logistics businesses including domestic mail and courier services based on infrastructure such as warehouses covering approximately 150,000 pyeong, about 2,000 vehicles, and more than 12,000 courier collection points nationwide. Last year, it established the 'Vietnam Post Logistics' division to enter the overseas logistics business.
To this end, the management of Vietnam Post visited Korea to tour Hanjin's courier/logistics infrastructure, and on the 13th, a business agreement was signed at the Hanjin Building in Jung-gu, Seoul, attended by key officials including Hanjin CEO President Nosam Seok, President of Future Growth Strategy and Marketing Cho Hyunmin, and Vice President Nguyen Kien Cuong of Vietnam Post.
Through this business agreement, both companies will combine their logistics capabilities and Hanjin’s logistics platforms such as ‘Global One-Click,’ launched last September for domestic global sellers seeking overseas expansion, to focus on developing international logistics services between Korea and Vietnam including international express delivery, forwarding, last-mile, and warehousing services.
In addition, they plan to continuously diversify logistics services overall, including last-mile services for e-commerce products, not only for domestic companies wishing to enter Vietnam but also for local companies in Vietnam aiming to export worldwide.
