Final works selected through a 3-step review process (basic requirements → expert opinions → internal deliberation)... "Reflecting the City Council's commitment to actively engage in the intense realities of life"... The slogan will be used for both the first and second halves of the year in online and offline promotions of the City Council over four years.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The Seoul Metropolitan Council (Chairman Kim Hyun-ki, Gangnam 3 People Power Party) announced on the 12th that it has selected “Into the Field, Beside the Citizens” as the slogan for the 11th Council through a public contest and internal review.
“Into the Field, Beside the Citizens” is a slogan expressing the 11th Seoul Metropolitan Council’s commitment to conducting legislative activities that communicate with citizens on-site and respond solely to the will of the citizens.
The council held a citizen participation contest to set the core values of Seoul’s administration and the direction of legislative activities desired by citizens. From July 25 to August 12, a total of 1,214 entries were received, demonstrating high public interest.
In the first stage, a professional contest company reviewed the entries based on basic slogan requirements, suitability, and plagiarism, selecting 100 entries. In the second stage, an external expert review committee selected six candidate slogans from these.
In the final third stage, an internal preference survey was conducted on the six candidates, but unfortunately, no final winner was selected. Therefore, the slogan was chosen through internal recommendations and opinion gathering.
Among the citizen submissions, three excellent works and three commendable works were selected. Winners of the excellent works will each receive a chairman’s commendation and a prize of 500,000 won, while winners of the commendable works will each receive a chairman’s commendation and a prize of 300,000 won.
Chairman Kim Hyun-ki stated, “This slogan embodies the council’s determination to become a council that actively goes into the intense scenes of daily life rather than one that makes citizens come to it.”
He added, “We thank the citizens who showed interest in the Seoul Metropolitan Council and participated in the contest, and we will take each slogan created as a citizen’s suggestion to operate the 11th Council.”
The selected slogan will be used in various promotional videos, publications, official documents, business cards, and more until the end of the 11th Council in June 2026.
