Salute to Veterans Who Defended the Nation... Gyeongnam Province's 70th Anniversary Commemoration and Security Resolution Rally
Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, is expressing gratitude to veterans at the 70th Anniversary Veterans Day event and Security Resolution Rally.

The Veterans Day event, hosted by the Gyeongnam-Ulsan Veterans Association, was organized to express respect and gratitude to discharged soldiers and to raise the security awareness of the residents.
The event held at the new building auditorium of the provincial government was attended by Governor Park Wan-su, Park Hyun-sook, head of the Gyeongnam Eastern Veterans Affairs Office, heads of major local institutions and veterans organizations, Jeong In-gyu, president of the Gyeongnam-Ulsan Veterans Association, and about 300 members of the veterans association.
A video showcasing the footsteps of the Veterans Association, which has worked to establish security awareness and develop the local community, was screened, followed by the veterans' pledge, awards for meritorious persons, commemorative speeches, and the reading of the security resolution statement.
On this day, Park Jin-young, president of the Sacheon City Veterans Association, was awarded the National Medal in recognition of his efforts to amend the National Security Act.
Twenty-four members of the Veterans Association, who contributed to establishing national security awareness with a strong sense of security and patriotism, were also honored with awards.
The Veterans Association pledged to unite the wisdom and capabilities of its members to support the denuclearization of North Korea and the government's security policies, wishing for peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula.
Gyeongsangnam-do plans to hold a Youth Security Resolution Rally with the Gyeongnam-Ulsan Veterans Association to instill a proper sense of national identity and patriotism among local youth.
On the 20th, students of Hadong Middle School, and on the 25th, students of Masan Technical High School will be offered security field trips, military unit barracks experiences, and related lectures.

On this day, Governor Park said, “Thanks to the veterans association members who have devoted themselves to the country, practiced volunteerism to protect our region, and provided wisdom, Gyeongsangnam-do has developed. We will renew our awareness of the security environment of the Republic of Korea and work together with determination to revive Gyeongsangnam-do and contribute to regional development.”
