[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Ganghwa County, Incheon, will provide tuition support to university students residing in the area.
On the 13th, the county announced that it will support tuition fees up to 8 million KRW for university students from households with an income below 200% of the median income and registered as residents in the region.
The eligible students are those from households with an income below 200% of the median income (annual income of 10,242,160 KRW or less for a family of four) and under the age of 30 as of January this year.
Additionally, both the student and their guardian must be currently registered residents of Ganghwa County, and must have a residency history of at least three years as of the announcement date of tuition support on the 17th of this month.
The tuition support is up to 8 million KRW, with recipients receiving 1 million KRW per semester for a total of eight semesters over four years.
