Lotte Duty Free, First in Industry to Obtain International Cloud Security Certification

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Lotte Duty Free announced on the 13th that it has become the first in the duty-free industry to acquire the Cloud Service Information Security Management System (ISO 27017).
The international certification for cloud security, 'ISO 27017,' established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2015, is an international standard related to information security that can be obtained only when an information security management system is established and operated according to guidelines in a cloud service environment.
The certification awarding ceremony held the previous day at Lotte Duty Free headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by Lee Gap, CEO of Lotte Duty Free; Tom Helm, Secretary of the British Embassy in Korea; Michael Lamb, Director of BSI Group Asia Pacific; Lim Seong-hwan, CEO of BSI Group Korea; and Lee Ho-yong, Head of Information Security at Lotte Duty Free.
To obtain the certification, Lotte Duty Free established a cloud security management system that meets global standards through security diagnosis and guideline establishment tailored to the characteristics of the cloud environment, security vulnerability inspection and measures, and operation of an enhanced cloud security system. This certification, conducted through the audit process of the British Standards Institution (BSI), will be maintained for three years through future renewal audits.
