Caught speeding... Vietnamese driver assaults police officer, seizes speed gun, and flees
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] In Vietnam, a man in his 30s driving a van was caught speeding, and in a fit of anger, he assaulted the police and even snatched their speed gun before being caught.
According to local media on the 12th, Vietnamese police arrested Nguyen Hoang Min (38), a resident of Hung Yen Province in northern Vietnam, yesterday on charges including robbery.
On the 10th, Min was driving a 7-seater van on the Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway when he was caught speeding and fined. However, harboring resentment, after dropping off passengers at their destination in Hanoi, he returned, stopped the vehicle, and assaulted the police officers with a metal rod. He also took their speed gun and fled.
