Sacheon Coast Guard Rescues Stern-Flooded Vessel at Daebang Port
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] At around 4:31 a.m. on the 12th, a 5.48-ton vessel partially submerged and caught on a cliff at Daebang Port in Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam, was rescued by the Coast Guard.
According to the Sacheon Coast Guard Station, the bow of the vessel was hanging on the pier cliff, and one-third of the stern was submerged in water.
The Sacheon Coast Guard installed buoyancy floats on the stern to prevent the vessel from sinking and, with the cooperation of the Sacheon Donggeum 119 Center, carried out water drainage operations on the submerged stern.
At the same time, using a land crane, the stern was lifted back above the water surface at 8:04 a.m. that day.
